Authors - How to Submit a Paper
Submitting an Article for Publication:
Only original manuscripts are considered for publication in Inquiry. Articles published, accepted, or submitted for publication elsewhere will not be considered. If the submitted paper has been presented at a meeting, this fact should be noted. See our policy regarding Prior Publication. Inquiry reserves the right to reject or accept any manuscript, letter, or correspondence.
Authors must provide the following to the managing editor:
  1. An electronic file of the above in Microsoft Word format. Include on a diskette or CD.
  2. Two (2) complete, printed copies of their papers.
  3. A cover page attached to the manuscript that includes the article's title and the name, degrees, academic or professional titles and affiliations of the author(s). The first page of the text should show only the article's title.
  4. An abstract of not more than 100 words. All of the text, including endnotes and references, must be in typewritten, double-spaced format.
Email the prepared manuscript or any questions to INQUIRY's managing editor, Ronny Frishman, at:
In addition, mail two hard copies to:

Note: Manuscripts are acknowledged upon receipt and promptly submitted for evaluation. The contact author (if there is more than one author) is informed of the journal's decision approximately 16 weeks following acknowledgment of the manuscript. Once a manuscript is accepted, the author(s) will be asked to send a final electronic copy.
Tearsheets and Reprints:
When published, we will send authors one issue of the journal. Permission is granted to authors to reproduce their own reprints. Other reprint requests should be addressed to the managing editor.
Notes and References:
Works cited in the text should be referred to by author and date of publication (Smith 1985) and an alphabetized list of references should be placed at the end of the article. When other documentation is required, numbered endnotes should be used. These notes should be listed in numerical order at the end of the article before the list of references. References with multiple authors must list at least three of the authors.
Footnotes and references to tables should be given immediately below the tabular presentation and be identified separately for each table.
Manuscripts based on research supported by a grant or performed under a contract should state this information in an unnumbered footnote on the cover page.
